We know that 30% of greenhouse gas emissions come from the transport of goods. A simple solution to lower this rate is to diversify and better choose these modes of transport. Indeed, multimodal transport makes transport more "green" when we know that a train consumes 93% less CO2 compared to its road equivalent of 45 heavy goods vehicles; and that a barge consumes 71% less CO2 compared to its road equivalent of 125 heavy goods vehicles.
